COUNTY ORGANIZED: 1903

COUNTY NAMED FOR: Alamo defender George Washington Lynn (or Linn).

COUNTY SEATS: One - Tahoka

COUNTY SEAT NAMED FOR: Tahoka Lake located nearby. Tahoka is an Indian word for deep or clear water.

COURTHOUSES: Two - 1903 and 1916.

STANDING: One - 1916 Classical Revival Courthouse built of concrete with brick and terra-cotta veneer.

NOTE: This building is very similar to the Dallam County Courthouse in Dalhart by Smith & Townes and the  Freestone County Courthouse in Fairfield by W.R. Kaufman.
