COUNTY SEAT NAMED FOR: Charles G. (Charlie) Adams, a settler in the area, named the town site Sonora after a family servant from Sonora, Mexico.

COURTHOUSES: One - 1891

STANDING: One - 1891 Second Empire courthouse built of limestone.
