COUNTY ORGANIZED: 1875

COUNTY NAMED FOR: Probably named for William W. Morris, an early legislator and judge.

COUNTY SEATS: One - Daingerfield

COUNTY NAMED FOR: Capt. London Daingerfield

COURTHOUSES: Two - 1882 and 1973.

STANDING: Two -

  • 1882 brick courthouse in an odd style with Classical elements. It has been remodeled with a new roof and is used as an attorney's office.
  • 1973 courthouse is a Modern style structure built of concrete and brick.   A new sloping roof design has been added since these photos have been taken.
