COUNTY SEAT NAMED FOR: The names Runningwater and Hackberry Grove were rejected in favor of Plainview, since a vast treeless plain surrounded the area.

COURTHOUSES: Three - 1888, 1890, and 1910

STANDING: One - 1910 Beaux-Arts courthouse built of brick.
