COUNTY ORGANIZED: 1907 from Beaver County, Oklahoma Territory.

COUNTY NAMED FOR: 
The Cimarron River.

COUNTY SEAT NAMED FOR: The first county seat was Kenton, but an election in 1909 moved the seat to Boise City, which was named after Boise, Idaho.

COURTHOUSES:
Rented space was used in both Kenton and Boise City until the current courthouse was complreted in 1926.

STANDING:
 One - 1926 Classical Revival courthouse built of brick.
