COUNTY NAMED FOR: Texas revolutionary leader Jonas Harrison.

COUNTY SEATS: One - Marshall.

COUNTY SEAT NAMED FOR: Chief Justice John Marshall.

COURTHOUSES: Five - 1839, 1848, 1889, 1900, and 1964.

STANDING: Two -

  • 1900 Renaissance Revival courthouse, built of granite, stone, and marble. This building serves as the county historical museum.
  • The 1964 courthouse is a Modern glass and masonry structure.
