The Osage Nation built this Tribal Council
House in 1894, and the bell tower was used to call councilmen to
meetings. Oil and grazing lease transactions as well as other
fiscal determinations were made in this structure.
When Oklahoma
became a state in 1907, it was sold to the City of Pawhuska and has been
used as
the City Hall since that time.
The building was placed on Oklahoma's National
Register of Historical Places in 1976.
